Best things to do in Malta in November
1. Swim while the sea is still warm
The sea holds its summer heat well into November. On calm, sunny days, sandy beaches like Golden Bay, Għajn Tuffieħa and Mellieħa Bay are quiet and lovely for a swim.
2. Explore Valletta without the crowds
Visit St John’s Co-Cathedral to see Caravaggio’s masterpiece, walk the old streets and catch the view from the Upper Barrakka Gardens, where the Saluting Battery fires a cannon at noon. From late November, Valletta’s Christmas lights add extra sparkle.

3. Walk the cliffs and countryside
Cooler weather makes November great for hiking. Try the Dingli Cliffs, the coastal paths around Mellieħa and Majjistral Park, or the walk from Ta’ Ċenċ in Gozo. After the first rains, the fields start to turn green again.
4. Visit Mdina and Rabat
The “Silent City” of Mdina is magical on a quiet November afternoon. Combine it with Rabat’s St Paul’s Catacombs and a stop for pastizzi.
5. Sunday morning in Marsaxlokk
Head to the fishing village of Marsaxlokk on Sunday morning for the fish market, colourful luzzu boats and a seafood lunch by the harbour.

6. Take a day trip to Gozo
The ferry from Ċirkewwa to Mġarr takes around 25 minutes. Visit the Citadel in Victoria, Ġgantija Temples and the Ta’ Pinu basilica, then end the day with dinner by the sea in Xlendi or Marsalforn.

Is November a good time to visit Malta?
Yes, especially if you like sightseeing, walking and culture more than all-day beach life. You get mild weather, a still-warm sea, fewer tourists, lower prices and a busy events calendar. The trade-offs are shorter days, a chance of rain showers and some beach clubs and boat trips closing for the season.
